I agree with James and Liam, can't you put another engine in it, you've spent all that time building a decent car to throw it all away!! You must have a spare engine in your garage somewhere.....

Ah that's just plain crap! Can't believe your luck Emlyn I really do feel for you and understand how you feel about it I can't imagine a stronger bout of bad luck for a car than this.

Right that's the sympathy part over with, sort it out lad for god sake! Are you seriously going to let this beat you? I mean after all and I mean ALL you've put into the car, not to mention buying it twice, are you really going to give up at the last hurdle. I know it's dishearting, I had to put 3 engines in the Orion before it was eventually right and they were all as a result of a failed oil pump on the original build, but ££££ happens it really does. Your so close to achieving what you want from the car and getting a replacement engine for the car is definately not the end of the world. I am sure if this was anyone elses thread and you were on the otherside of the fence you would be right at the front of the que saying get an engine in it and stop faffing about, in fact you'd probably drive to France to help fit the bloody thing irrespective of what your personal plans are! Get yourself an engine and fit it when you can. There's no rush and remember if you buy another car the grass isn't always greener on the otherside......

We're (VPC) all here to call on if you need assistance god know's you've handed enough out to others, myself included, get an engine and we can have a mini meet at yours and fit it. I'll even bring dougnuts....

So consider this a virtual slap, I have your mobile number don't make it a verbal one as well

    Cheers
    Yeah turbo is absolutely fine.

The engine heated so much the head has warped and melted the bottom end slightly!!!

    Its completely shot mate.

Thanks for all the comments guys, I hate to admit defeat but due to finance problems I have no alternative. I borrowed money which I need to pay asap to repair it last time and after another hefty £150 recovery bill im treading of extremely thin ice at the moment.

Its a hit I dont want to take but I can build up again and enjoy it and do it properly without shortcuts or expense spared next time.

Well today marked the end of an Era... Rest in peace you unreliable peace of poo! It was good while it lasted but you were too high maintainance for me (normally the case with leggy blondes!), time to move on plenty more fish in the sea.

Time to start looking for the next project!

Thanks to t5pete for heading down too to help get the thing ripped to pieces, fat easier with four hands and the car was stripped within 7 hours.

The standard turbo would be a t28.

Not many left standard, so it could have some aftermarket parts on it.
Do you know who's it is?

Mmm T38 eh? Shame it appears not to have an engine. Absolutely no idea who's it is but it hasnt moved whatsoever in the three years I have been here.

Probably been stripped already then. Shame.

Check the brakes as lots have had bigger brakes fitted.
Underneath also as it may have a performance exhaust on it.
