    Lots getting done now.

I'll be needing a rip kit for mine, think that and the larger TB would make a big difference.

To be honest the MPG has dropped a little however this is due to my current "playful" driving style. What I have noticed is it seems to increase the more it is modified providing you dont boot it everywhere.

I had most fitted prior to changing the M56H to the M56L gearbox and it was averaging on a run 36 and being heavy footed everysoften around 29-30.

It has dropped with the M56L at it sits at 3krpm in 5th at 70 so averages around 31-32 on a run. However it is alot more economical around town as it will happily sit in 5th at 30.

As soon as you tell me when you want it sorting we can do a reverse kit no problem. Certainly makes a difference. Very little lag when coupled with a throttle body.

Not sure I will be the one to watch mate!!! Jamest5r will have my attention along with smithness. Really looking forward to seeing how james car does given the obvious changes and unique turbo.

Of course ride available, and yes you still owe one! Im very interested by your car as it clearly has the go on the strip but how does it perform on the road?

Not too bad is it Pete? Best way I think it can be described is what smithness said "Running healthy that son".

    Get back to work!!!

Yeah would like to do it proper and get a gripper, by time you have bought a M59 you might as well pay the little extra for a propper diff.

Its like the turbo is permanently spooled up and ready to go, infact its like driving a N/A car.

Im pretty happy now with where the car is performance wise and I have done a fair bit to it now. Time now to get the car looking mint again before probably spending more money on bigger turbo's come christmas time!!!

For those interested here is the engine spec as it stands:

Custom Rica Map, Blitz Dual SBC Controller set at 1.3 bar, White 350cc injectors, TD04HL-16T, Custom Reverse Intercooler pipework, BSR Induction Kit, De-cat, custom 2.5" Exhaust, HKS Dump Valve, Ported Inlet with 3.0 throttle body and ported exhaust manifold.
I had my throttle body fitted and inlet manifold ported last weekend and the difference is certainly noticeable. The car feels more responsive, even when driving normally.

The current spec of your car is quite similar to mine and it showed at Avon park last time as you were running similar times to what i got in April. I'm interested to see how your new gearbox will perform on the strip

Im too very keen to see how the box performs. I will be in 4th by 80mph and as it pulls the most boost in 4th and 5th I can certainly see pulling higher terminals if nothing else.

but more gear changes mean slower times, our cars have shedloads of torque so can have longer gearing, mine is in 4th at 102 mph now

Well did a little more work today...

    Whats this I wonder???

I had a small list of jobs, replace turbo, fit blue injectors and replace a bodged (but working!) turbo coolant pipe with a volvo genuine part.

Below you can see the difference in the two coolant pipes!

So here is the new turbo sat next to a 15G unit, doesnt look alot of difference if any in size however the turbo impellor is clearly different.

For those interested here is a photo of three of the TD-04 series turbo's sat next to each other. From left to right is a 15G, 16T and 18T.

I have just replaced all the coolant and ran the car up, she runs well with no smoke or obvious leaks at idle. Going to nip out shortly to test the car and see how it runs.

Scrap the old spec list here is how its looking now:

Custom Rica Map, Blitz Dual SBC Controller set at 1.3 bar, Blue ME7 395cc injectors, TD04HL-18T, Custom Reverse Intercooler pipework, BSR Induction Kit, De-cat, custom 2.5" Exhaust, HKS Dump Valve, Ported Inlet with 3.0 throttle body and ported exhaust manifold.

4th is 125 in this box so no problems there. Lets just see what happens. What I will say is im not the only person running this box and it certainly seems to work for them.
