Been busy doing a few other little jobs today.

Firstly I did what I should have done a long time ago and replaced the rear light clusters. What a difference it makes to the appearance.

    Before:

    After:

I also took some advice and nicked an idea from Cherry regarding the Blitz. So that has now moved.

Lastly however I had a set of V70 clocks kicking about... got me thinking why not fit them see what they look like. Got them all rigged up and working now. Personally I quite like them.

    Before:

    After:

No need for it mate, the blitz has a digital boost guage. Far more accurate and reads the peak boost levels in each gear for you.

Looking like work well done there, rear of the car is looking much more up to date which is strange when you think all that's changed is the colour of the indicators.. Boost controller looks nice and subtle, obviously will be easy to use and monitor whilst on the move. Not sure I'm sold on the clocks I've always liked the older looking 850 instruments and useless boost gauge..

I'd probably loose the towbar next..

Yeah I agree they almost freshen the car up at the rear. I really would like to colour code the bumpers like yours but as the rear bumper is already a little tatty I would want to source a new one first.

I have since to replaced the rear boot badges with brand new ones from Volvo too. They look much better.

As for the clocks, I wasnt sure in the first place just thought I would give it a go. Think I might resort back to 850 ones.

Is it any good? I changed the oil in it a while ago but didn't flush it and now it's back to being lumpy.

I think Pedro was after one of these - not having mine cos I'm still using it! lol but now you know where to look for one!

Well got a few more jobs done today. Very happy indeed with the outcome.

Firstly I fitted the new Volvo oil cooler o-rings and retaining bracket to resolve a bad oil leak from the cooler.

Next I decided it was time to get finger out and replace the PCV system with the new one and fit the ported manifold to take the 3ltr throttle body.

Finally once everything was back together the new PCV in place, ported mani fitted and 3 litre throttle body comfotably housed the last job was to fit the reversed intercooler pipework I had made.

Just got back from a trip up to Hull and my god what a difference the throttle body coupled with the reverse pipework makes! Running the car at 1.3 bar and she just pulls and pulls and best of all the throttle responce is instant. Its like the turbo is permanently spooled up and ready to go, infact its like driving a N/A car.

Im pretty happy now with where the car is performance wise and I have done a fair bit to it now. Time now to get the car looking mint again before probably spending more money on bigger turbo's come christmas time!!!

For those interested here is the engine spec as it stands:

Custom Rica Map, Blitz Dual SBC Controller set at 1.3 bar, White 350cc injectors, TD04HL-16T, Custom Reverse Intercooler pipework, BSR Induction Kit, De-cat, custom 2.5" Exhaust, HKS Dump Valve, Ported Inlet with 3.0 throttle body and ported exhaust manifold.
Arguing is pointless....she may not be right but she's never wrong

Tell her a remap is just having your satnav updated.....
