radio head unit swop sc 801 - sc 805

hello all today ive changed the sc801 head unit for the sc805 hoping that i would end up with a 7 cd player system but the sc805 head unit keeps saying 'no chgr'??

i thought these units worked with the volvo 6 cd changer?

all the wiring checks out ok because when i plug in the sc801 back in the changer is fine?

could there be a problem with the head unit?

any help or advice please would be greatly appreciated

If it's got the socket in the back it should pick it up

yep its got the socket, when i first plugged it in it showed the track number etc with all the zeros then showed the 'no changr'?? ive fiddled with connections , the sc801 works fine its got me thinking theres a problem with the head unit??

You have got the cartridge in? Lol.
Might be worth checking that anyway, Eject it and pop it back in or something.

EDIT: Doh, Just seen it works with the other unit.

yep its a strange one ive tried everything , fuse is ok in changer and it ejects the cartridge so power is getting there , ive cleaned all sockets and connections and checked for bent connections and all look good , all i can think is that there is a problem with the head unit ??? ive spoken to the guy who i bought it off and he will refund my money so all is not lost but ive been searching for weeks for a black sc805 = typical lol

Know what you mean. I gave up and bought a 901 which fell apart.
Back on the 801 Premium now and get the missus to swap CD's.

yep its a shame maybe i'll find another ? what annoys me is when the mates get in car they say 'cassette player!'

Back to basics, but have you tried the changer on another 805? and your 805 on another changer?

hi and no its gone back to the seller for a full refund , it had a faulty volume knob that came off when pulled out to adjust the balance so i wasnt happy with it anyway,the outer cv joints need changing soon so going to put the money towards them , cheers for your input
