    Off the shelf Tubular manifold

Well all I am back after a long perion away. I have been busy with a few projects over the last few years. I will try and update you all as the ones that are appropraite are finished.

Whilst I have been away I have come across a guy in the states that some of you may of heard of called Mark Blaha (used to work for Mahle Power Train) now running his own engine building operation and he has been developing various things for Volvo engines. He is currently working on the 3R Racing Volvo team engines. He has some products that he is getting ready for the public market and I will keep you all up to date on too. Group buys will be possible.

One thing I have found though is a tubular manifold that is getting awsome flow rates and is not expensive in comparison to stuff here. The guy that builds them in the USA is willing to do discounts for group buys here in the UK if anyone is interested.

I will be getting one so please shout if you want info.

Long time. hows the car? Did you sell it in the end or keep it? I'd be interested in a manifold.

Sold it and then ended up getting it back as the guy that bought it owed me money for something else

I have done some more mods but wont go into that now.

I am looking into the possibility of modding a R34 GTR skyline running gear to fit straight onto an 850 with a slight tunnel mod. that will be next year though.

What the hell for?, if your converting a 960 then you've got loads of room to get a decent one built, there's no space considerations on the 960.

    Baited breath and all that
If Simon Norris can cram a Skyline box in his Evo, I'm sure there's plenty of room in a Volvo.

Only question is - does it fit RHD - with the brake servo and all that in the way? Any bulk head mod required?

    I'd be interested - definitely.

Thats a great price. I would need dimensions and many pictures of the item fitted as my turbo is very large in physical size so I would need to make sure it fit properly and without intererance.

Tomcat, because the turbo sits to close to the steering column downnpipe would be to tight

Has there been any emperical gains showed (before & after) compared with my stock ME7. I have been guilty in the past of modifying for modifying's sake - so want to be certain it would be worth the investment - both in time & money.

Is the ME7 manifold restrictive in comparison basically?

Yes there are many threads in magazines and on the net should you wish to have a look regarding just a change in manifold which shows immediate gains in power and reduction in EGT's. Tubular manifolds are used for a reason over cast manifolds when seeking more power and it is not purely for the look.

I think my turbo will be about the same and it has been designed to cope with mine (holset HX40) or (Precision Turbo T3 split PT6765 CEA custom modified (by the way I am now the contact for Precision Turbo in the UK)

This post was to find people for the manifold and not the transmision as it will not be ready for a while and will not be cheap either as it is all new parts from Japan.

Please keep posts to interests in the manifold.

I am not sure how you can assume that this is not a decent unit? I haven't even mentioned who is building them or their experience. Let's just say he works with high power race engines and knows what he is doing. they will flow 1000 bhp+ and are properly tuned for pulse etc. Thick wall so it can cope with the weight of a big turbo without having to think about supporting brackets for the turbo on the engine.
