850R Auto tapping noise when accelerating

    Hello all

Just fitted a new turbo, 3" dp and 2.5" exhaust system to my 96 855r. But ever since doing so I seem to have a tapping noise when accelerating hard it sounds like an old vauxhall or an unhealthy BMW. In neutral the engine sounds sweet with no tapping noises whatsoever. Does anyone think this could be a sticky tappet or something to do with the transmission?

    Thanks in advance

actually come to think about it it does sound a little strange on startup, like something is blowing but my previous T5 did the same and i don't recall it having the tapping noise.

I would check the work over again. Injectors can be noisy under load but it is impossible to guess without hearing.

Fixed! It was the manifold it had a couple of cracks and one of the gaskets was shattered! Sounds very very nice now!
