Not a very nice position to find yourself in. I do think anyone purchasing a car that is supposedly modified should take a very clued up enthusiast or mechanic to check the car or any which they intend on purchasing before diving in. That way potential problems and lies will/should be uncovered.
i would pay 3k for my car all day long. bad times for the buyer but it still looks a decent motor 107 miles low owners , not be long before that car is a proper classic
The guy (ripped off buyer) posted up on here earlier today, on the original thread about this car.
As he was given false info when he purchased, he should be able to take the ebay scammer to court/ Trading Standards...provided he can find him that is!
Buyer was the victim of fraud, nothing less. IIRC fraud is a criminal offence!
plus it must of cost a few quid for the round trip from dover to blackpool
it gets worse. right the bloke bought it of a guy in blackpool. the ebay add says hes in dover. ive just found the same car for sale in york? the add is new today and says nothing about ebay. hes after £1800.. smells fishy to me

That still sounds like the original add?
"The problem with internet quotes, is that you don't know if they're real or not" - Abraham Lincoln
yep just re read both and they are the same!!!! so its for sale on ebay by so called new owner in dover. and also for sale on gumtree in york with the old add. new today lol
He's still trying to stitch me up now! I am in Dover mate and the car is here with me. I am toying with the idea of keeping the car now anyway. I just can't believe some people have got so much front to to point blank lie to your face. Thanks for link anyway fella. I wonder what this scammer is up to now!!
I have just put a complaint about the ad to Gumtree so hopefully they will remove it.

Hi mate if you read the other thread some of the recent posts explain the situation atm. Basically I've spoke to this Josh guy and he's admitted forging the receipts but is adament the rods and pistons have been done but he wasn't given the receipts when he bought the car. I am very doubtful but the car is booked in to have the sump off to check the rods on Thurs. He has agreed to give me a full refund if the rods are standard. If that doen't happen I will go see my solicitor for definate. I have spoken to the police and they have advised me this is a civil claim to go through the small claims court, which I am definately prepared to do if need be. I would probably accept even a partial refund to cover my travel, my trouble and to reflect the true value of the car.
Thanks mate,
Mitch.
Good luck Mitch. The smalls claims process can be a nightmare so hopefully, if you have to go that route, you get the money owed to you actually paid.
I'd say he's a real con artist, why put the ad on Gumtree when he doesn't have the car?
I think this has gone from being a simple, I can't get the paper work, so I forged some new ones. To trying to sell a car he no longer owns.
Looks like fraud plain and simple.

Did you know the EU says that you can't claim that drinking water prevents dehydration. So now you know for sure what many of have known for years that the EU is run by a bunch of nutters.
