    Odd knockng, clunking

    Hi All,

2001 V70 T5 Estate (manual), on uneven surfaces we're getting odd knocking, clunking from under the front of the car, feels worse from the passneger front seat. Wishbones and top engine mount have been changed as have the tyres with the tracking done at the same time. Had the car up and pushed - pulled everything including using the jack under the engine and subframe to find if anything is loose but no joy.

Seem worse on surfaces where the car is moved left to right and very little if any noise over speed bumps.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks in advance...

    ,.,

my thoughts would be anti roll bar drop links aswell,
but there is a issue with p2 front suspension springs rattling on the platforms, you can but a new rubber for the spring to sit on,
its some service update with that model as the problem was discovered,
its called a rubber insulation cup.
    item number 30666314 (x2) upper.
    and 30666315 (x2) lower.

cant say for sure that this is the problem obviously but it might be worth looking at,or getting it looked at.

    Top mounts?

I had a similar issue with my C70 and it was the top mounts that had decided to give up the ghost. Very rattly over bumps but not over speed bumps for some reason either. Cost me £240 for Volvomax to supply and fit, I'm sure if memory serves me correctly.
