    Digital Juke Box

Chap I know at work has a 2003 Phase 2 V70R and has just had the Volvo Digi Juke box fitted. 20Gb hard disk player, syncs with PC and stores about 5000 WMA files with ease. Has voice announcements too.

Could one be fitted to an earlier model Volvo, say a P1 V70? Or has anyone gone any 3rd party kit that does the samething.

not quite the same but the JVC headunit i've got has what they call "giga-mp3", if you have a dvd writter you can write mp3's (& wma's) onto a disc & the unit will be able to play them. I've got about 2000 songs on a disc so far & still got space left

also has a built in monitor to watch dvd films

Kenwood do a similar system, licenced from 'phat noise' or something like that, in the states. I assume the volvo system is similar.
Becker do a DIN sized hard drive player. I'm sure many others are available.

i suppose the question I was think of was...how does the Pc connect to the unit....?

Does the hard drive slide out the front or do you need to remove the whole unit to transfer music..?

The hard drive is a 'casstte' which you remove and plug via USB to the PC, the same as any external hard drive. The nice thing about the Volvo one is that it uses the original head unit and therefore anonymous.

Are the original fit speakers any good?
