S40 T4 The Good and the Bad!

As above.

The good? Custom 3" exhaust done today by Simon, owner of Simons Exhausts at South Milton, East Kilbride, top bloke!

Fantastic looks, superb finish, and a great sound.

The bad? Car splitting an intercooler hose on the way there, and losing all the lights in the passenger headlight. Not sure what's caused that and had to spend time getting hose bodged back up in order it would do the 80 miles back home, so not able to have a look see.... Made it, and no DSA light, so it looks to have held for now. Two 63mm 90 degree silicone legs ordered to resolve that minor hiccup...!

Hopefully get a video clip tomorrow - spare time was spent fixing up the intercooler hose bend - two splits in it... At least I knew what it was when it started to struggle on the M8 and the DSA light came on...

It sounds throaty to say the least. One of the guys there thought it was a bit like a Subaru at tickover. Rather "un-volvo" like though, which was part of the aim! Now waiting on the 19t hybrid turbo from Australia and a remap

That looks great, can I ask how much the exhaust was? Gives me an idea of what I would like doing with mine. Cheers

Exchaust all in was £450 which I think is damned good and if you see it and hear it, definitely.....!

You ought to hear it on the move - get a pop when you come off the throttle on gear changes (up or down), and it rumbles on a trailing throttle. Anyone that looks does a double take when they see the Volvo badge.....!!!

Quite what it will be like when the 19T is on and mapped to suitI can only wonder, but stealth it won't be
