I have just had my timing belt (including tensioner etc) and alternator belt changed at my local garage. However after leaving the garage and returning home I noticed my engine making a whining noise when I accelerate or blip the throttle. It’s more noticeable when coming to a stop or stationary when the car is ticking over. I immediately took the car back to the garage and they said to keep running over the weekend as the belts need to run in and if it’s still making the noise to bring it back. The noise is definnalty coming from the timing belt area and it wasn’t there when I took the car in.
Any ideas what this could be or has anyone had the same problem. I have searched the internet and found some cars with the same fault but no one seems to know how to fix it.
My car is a 2007 S60 T5.
Thanks.
