    T5 or T5R....decsions decisions....

Ive been looking for a T5 auto est and missed a couple but now maybe have the chance of either a 97 T5 for about £500 or a 95 T5R for £1600ish, both are needing a few things done.

I know the R is more sought after ect ect but are worth the extra dam near a grand just to say "Ive got an R". The T5 has about 160odd mls and the R about 120.

At the end of the day it's a personal choice, they'll both produce the same amount of power once tuned, it's just down to spec, the R's where top of the range so you get all the toys.

No prob, its just that there's dam near a grand between them, I know there seemingly better cars (the Rs) or at least better equiped.....so its really just (like you say) a personal choice.

With prices the way they are, The R is more likely to hold it's value better due to what it is.

True, plus the R's have stiffer springs and they're slightly lower so they handle better. After owning both normal T5's and R's I'd never go back to a standard car as I'd miss the higher spec.

Thanks, thing is, I dont like hard suspension and wont use it to its potential so maybe stick to the T5, BUT....I'll like the classy interior finish and toys of the R mmmmmm....

get a late se with leather/alcantara seats if you like the aluminium inserts you can find and fit these after and as for the toys the only thing extra i can think of is an electric passenger seat thats it, i'm talking about v70's
