Hi all, its been a while, but thought it was time to update.

Slowly but surely have now built up the new car, ready for racing next year.
We were at Abingdon airfield for its first run 10 days ago, which went ok, had some problems, but nothing serious.
An oil leak and a boost issue were the main problems.
The new suspension combined with a new diff, makes this car change direction so much better than the old one.
I'm really looking forward to getting it on a proper track, but most trackdays are fully booked at the moment.

    Small video from onboard

As Photobucket is rubbish, I'm going to try something different and using the link below, hopefully you can see some photos,
not necessarily in chronological order, but hey..........someone let me know if the link does not work.

    https://drive.google.com/drive/folde...Xr?usp=sharing

Need to write a list of all the mods, but that's going to take a while

Thanks to MoleT-5R for the bumper top and Claymore for the loan of a laptop.

    cheers

    JT

I think the question is more, what haven't I done? lol

Currently still running the Turbo Tuner, but hoping to swap that out very soon.
    Differences from the last car:
Completely stripped of everything That I don't need....electric windows, wiring, underseal, random brackets etc.
Hoping the new car should be 100+ Kg lighter than the old one.

Stripped and rebuilt the Delta link, including removing all rubber mounts and replacing with uprated parts.
    Fitted S60R rear brakes
Stripped and replaced all brake and fuel lines and replaced with Goodridge braided lines.
Fitted new Obp pedal box, thus removing the PAS system.
Due to the pedal box, I've had to move my seat back and then make a switch panel as I could no longer reach the dash.
    New Team Dynamics Wheels
    New Ohlin Front shocks
Gripper diff, set to full race ( I'm told?)
New do88 rip kit, reducing from 3" to 2/12"
New TWR front bumper with under tray( not fitted yet )
    New rear wing
    New Nuke Fuel rail
    New MPRE uprated engine mounts
    New IPD gear box tie

If I can think of anything else, Ill update later

    Hello all, Happy new year!

    Tech question...............

Whilst building up a new head, I wanted to make sure the Cams were correct and free spinning.
With no lifters in place, I thought the cams should spin, which they did until I put the cam cover on, then
exhaust cam spins fine, but the inlet cam became very stiff to move. Remember there are no lifters in at this stage.

    Any ideas?

I have put together 4 head/cam/cover sets and they all seem to have similar issues.

I think from memory dont you have to reuse the Rocker from the Original Engine? They wear to the cams so using a different Rocker cover can cause issues.

Sorry if you have done this haven't read the thread just stumbled across it.

    Looking Smart btw

That would make me think it's normal it 4 sets are have the same issues, do they rotate better with the lifter etc in place...??

Similar issues, not all the same, some are so tight I can’t turn it by hand
Not tried it with lifters in, not sure that would make any difference, but I’ll try it

Are they gasketed or sealanted normally? Not that I'd think a bead of sealant compressed sealant would make much difference tbh.
