Having been in a few cars with ap's (including jc viggens t-5r around the nurburgring on several occasions) you wont be disappointed with the stopping power!.

Cool, I'm looking forward to getting them on the car now! Lol

I was told by the supplier, it was the police who got AP to make them for their cars, because they couldn't slow down in a chase.
How true that is, I dont know?????

Dont forget the 19t,blues,3'' throttle body, short shift kit and if I can find a groupA airfilter, yea I hope to be a lot closer to the front. The 1st two places are pretty much taken, so it leaves the rest of us to fight for 3rd.

1/2 true as the police did complain about the brakes initially. The upgrade volvo produced for the police was the 302 mm brakes that you have fitted to yours, along with a police compound pad - that is why the 302mm brakes exist on some later police 850's. Volvo had to slightly change the design of the columba 16" wheel to have more clearance over the calipers (re-designed wheel was called a "perfo") because the 302 mm's wouldnt fit behind the columba wheel. That is why the police 850's have the 16" 5 spoke perfo's as found on the later S/V70's.

The AP's are a pure performance BBK developed by AP and nothing to do with Volvo AFAIK - they only fit behind 17" wheels and wouldnt fit behind the police 16" perfo.

IMO you have gone for one of the best BBK's for the 850 and I will be getting a set for mine in the not too distant future!

Cheers,I was told It cant get any better than AP's and as these cars are heavy(mine is 1275Kg,even after stripping it out), braking is an area I need to maximise, so made my choice.

    Thanks for the info.

Looking forward to getting back out on track.

JC's car was also stripped out with coilovers so you must have a similar set up and his was just perfect in the braking department. A few others have stop tech and they are supposed to be just as good but my choice would be the ap's as well!

Sounds good - look forward to seeing your updates!

Police got 302's, i did see a marked 855 cop car that had a roll cage & touring car spec bucket seats so wouldn't be surprised if that had got AP's on it

    on a serious note........

    a stupid question(probrably),

if I want to remove all 4 calipers from the car, can I drain the fluid and replace it later?
It was suggested to me not to let it run dry, but if its bled properly, surely I can just drain it all out and start again?????
