Aw ££££ bud... you where going really well until that corner. Did it lock up under braking or did something cause it to lock up? (ie did the wheel come off before or during the off?)

Jesus Christ, I'm interested to know the true reason. No contact obviously.

Couldn't agree more with the arm waving moment when the new driver in the bmw wouldn't pull over.

Sounding lovely, looked great and until the obvious some good driving jt.

    ok so whats the verdict??

All I have changed is the wheels, Titans off,Volans on.
so why all of a sudden am I losing wheels???
Its been suggested the nuts dont fit the wheels correctly and are coming loose, but they worked fine on the Titans???
maybe that the Volans are 7 spoke, instead of 5, so less cooling??
Im getting mixed views about the causes, but it has to be fixed permanently, so I am safe, the marshalls are safe and my wallet can stay closed for a while.

As I am now running out of wheels and tyres, I will be needing replacements,so will be looking at getting some 18s. can anyone see any problems with those, before I have any more accidents????

thanks in advance for any sensible comments

I can give you 18s they are not Volvo wheels (jag) but same fitting. Or we now have lightweight Eco 17s which are shi t but save 5kg a corner

Don't take this the wrong way but could you have found the limit that volvo wheel studs will take ?

As you are pushing the car into the corners it puts load on the wheel studs and you mite have found the limit of what loading they can take.

1996 850 T5 AWD - Self tuned M4.4 ECU with COP`s, B5254T ( S60R internals in a 850 block ) ostrich 2.0 , VXR injectors @ 3.8 bar, K24 turbo with a 6+6 compressor wheel, 3.25" MAF, top mounted Dump Valve, RN Exhaust manifold, 3" downpipe with 200 cell cat, 2.75" Stainless exhaust, Brembo calipers, S60R brake discs, stainless RIP kit, 3" Throttle body,

Would it be possible to drill 3 studs on either side and put something like R clips through them?

Thats a new view on it!
I'm using a stud conversion, but your question still stands.
1 of our dutch friends races with the same studs without problems.

I did think along those lines, but the nuts dont come off, just loosen enough for the wheel to move back and forth under braking/acceleration which then snaps the studs off.
