yea that looks a bit more professional.

Took mine apart and its not a simple battery swap. the battery has brackets attached, so I will need to invest in a new one.
but, as I had gone to the effort to remove it from the PCB, I checked it and it was still showing 3V.
So my thinking at this point was, the ecu should have lost its memory, capacitors aside, so I reinstalled it and flashed it.
Car started and first impressions were good, but no, same results. getting better, but the same.
If I alter the fuelling it doesn't change a thing, car runs regardless.
While I was out there and the car was warm, I changed the MSD coil.
Again, better but still not right. still getting white smoke

slowly but surely, getting there, but this ecu is starting to look like the culprit

I wish I was closer to you, as I'd pop over with a pile of ecu's to try as some start some models and some don't, yet if you try a different car you then find the one that didn't work before now start that car, but the one that worked in the previous car now don't......what model year was the electrical system for the race car from....??

The loom and ECU are both from my old 94 car

so we did a thing last night ..............



Found 1 clamp that was loose and a leak from the boost controller, but we think that was because it was pressurised as appose to a vacuum.
Either way, would it up to its max and that stopped it. Good little test that, cheers Dave.

For some strange reason, the TT has started to recognise different maps now too, so fingers crossed, removing the battery, did actually help?

Car has now stopped smoking on idle, but still does after applying the throttle. Just think it needs a good run now
We'll find out on the 14th, fingers crossed

Also, if anyone is breaking an 850 or similar, I could do with the part of the wiring loom that connects to the injectors.
Mine have all shot and bare copper wires are not good

Still think the original vid of the afr's was down to the contaminated fuel, what do they look like after sorting the boost leaks???

It's your hardware that needs upgrading.

An M4.4 with COP and wideband control would be a start

Well the turbo came back today, all nice and shiny with new parts.
bolted it on the car and it seems to have messed with the AFRs again

It came back with a manifold gasket too? I have fitted it, but i think it leaks.
I didn't think these had a gasket between the turbo and the exhaust manifold??

I've only found one of 4 Volvo's to have a gasket on the turbo exhaust hot side and that was the xc90 d5, my theory is if it didn't have one before , then why start now....lol

Hi all

I have found a company willing to produce heated windscreens for an 850, (not sure if the V70 is the same?)

They would be approximately £300 each, but I need at least 5 to be made, before they would consider it.
I'm happy to have 2, and 1 more is already spoken for.

Would anyone else be interested???

I have asked a few questions, is it the whole unit? a kit we add? etc etc
Well aware these screens rarely come out in 1 piece, so to send one off to be modified, is not an option.
So hoping its all in glass and element for £300. I'll confirm when i find out more.
