    Of course there were problems

    Started of with no brakes
    Then an oil leak
    Then an engine failure

    Happy days

    Well……….

Had a small leak from the remote reservoirs, so stripped it all down
and ended up replacing one of them, the bleed the whole system, in
preparation for the track day. But once at the track I realised I had no brakes!
Had to do the sighting laps with no brakes.

Made it back to the garage and bled all the system again and got the pedal back.

The engine has been letting by on the rings, so a bit of crankcase pressure.
So oil was finding its way out. So we just kept cleaning it up until lunch, when I then removed
The pcv which seemed to be in the middle of it. The small hose at the bottom, was to blame,
So swapped it out and all seemed well for a while.

It lasted till 5 minutes before the end, so happy we got a full days running.

Now to strip the engine down and rebuild with new parts including s60 crank, forged rods, forged pistons
    and all new bearings etc

not really, but I'm going to run out of time to finish and test it before August

this engine was built using all sorts of bits and bobs, just to get some seat time, so its served its purpose.

I've bought their CV joints and boot kits for years. Cheap as chips but never any issues and for the price you can always buy another.

Well............it was Tuesday, yes the hottest day on record and I had booked a track day

Going back a bit, I said we had some engine issues right at the end of the last test, I think we found the problem!

    Name: IMG_1868.jpg
Views: 0
Size: 106.7 KB

So new (ish) piston fitted and new rings while we had it apart and booked another test.

I was so pleased my mate turned up with his massive gazebo to keep us in the shade

So yes a very hot day as I'm sure you are all aware, but with in car temps hitting 45 degrees and wearing the full fireproofs, it was a tough day
not just for me but the car as well.

    Twice it overheated

    https://youtube.com/shorts/Bl4gfsSRoPU?feature=share

But I did get some laps in. Not pushing too hard as I did not want to destroy the new engine components.
On a positive, no oil leaks!! Happy days !!

The new drive shafts survived the day, so happy with those
Anyone recommend some decent brake pads to suit AP CP5200 cailpers? currently on DS3000, but I'm not feeling the bite

Next outing and my last this year, should be August 6TH, Brands Hatch...................RACEDAY!!
