Took mine apart and its not a simple battery swap. the battery has brackets attached, so I will need to invest in a new one.
but, as I had gone to the effort to remove it from the PCB, I checked it and it was still showing 3V.
So my thinking at this point was, the ecu should have lost its memory, capacitors aside, so I reinstalled it and flashed it.
Car started and first impressions were good, but no, same results. getting better, but the same.
If I alter the fuelling it doesn't change a thing, car runs regardless.
While I was out there and the car was warm, I changed the MSD coil.
Again, better but still not right. still getting white smoke
slowly but surely, getting there, but this ecu is starting to look like the culprit
