    Tire choice

Have seen some 225 45 17 Avon ZV5 y rated for £283 set plus del. Has anyone used these and been satisfied ? Got to try to keep costs down as i'm spending a fortune atm on the suspension exhaust and wheels. It's booked into a garage for a day on the 28th and then getting tracked up the day after.

These guys have supplied me tyres for the past 5 years. The D5 goes thru' a set a year.

Falken ZE-912s are 240 quid for a set delivered inc vat last time I bought some. All you need is someone to fit and balance them for you.

I have a paid of those aroma on the front of my t5, they are pretty grippy, only had them on two weeks. Only thing is under really hard acceleration the tyres can't cope, but as a good all rounder they are great, I got a pair for £175 on 225/45/17

Keep weighing costs and reasons not to buy the Conti's as recommended by Monkey which the cheapest I've found is £360 for a set plus del. The tyres on the car are crap and don't want the same again. They are 2/3 worn now and have no traction. Spun them up at 80 the other day on kickdown with the tc on !

I would have recommended Yokohama Parada 2's having fitted them to my last T4, but they don't do that size. Prior to those, I found Toyo T1-R's to be good, and not too expensive either. Camskill are good for deals.

Already up to £ 985 for the suspension parts and standard exhaust plus labour to fit without the cost of oil service / labour.....then wheel refurb and tyres
Got to be looking at £1.5 k plus all in.

Could buy another car for that

Forgot to add the cost of the wheels from Chad £220

sure but it'll be another car with slightly tired suspension and bushes probably.

Yours will drive like new since you've blown all that money already you may as well fit the best tyres!!

Sorry to hijack your thread but i have a tyre question. Currently my 18" Pegs have 235's on them, is it ok to fit 225's as the price diff is quite alot.

not checked lately... I do a lot of town driving stop start so they will wear a bit quicker... I'd be happy with 10-12 thousand on the front.

    rears will last forever

will depend on your driving and everything - mines pretty heavy on tires... it's all the torque
