The situation is at the mo I cant afford a cat back exhaust. Is it work just replacing the back box with something like this? And would it make any difference if I did?
cheers again...

No, because as stock they only have one silencer in front of rear wheels.
You could add this to the part after the rear wheels, but it would be even quieter!

Just cut the suitcase and cat cut out and get straight pipes welded in, cheapest way for a little extra power.

if i cut the suitcase off and have a straight pipe, is that an mot pass? or is a case of swap back for the mot..??
i won't be that loud. We can go & fit Powerflow round the corner from me when you come to Cov, can't be far off getting a group discount now lol

Exhaust wouldn't be that loud without any silencing (would be on a N/A), the turbo effectively 'chops up' the exhaust pulses and hence dampens the sound. Don't get me wrong it will be louder and you may want to add a small straight through silencer if it is too excessive. The MOT man won't care unless he believes that the exhaust is substantially louder then normal (only the police decibel test...at the moment !) and you could always add a decibel reducer into the tailpipe at test time like they do at noise restricted track days.

if you put a smaller box at back would you loose power, also can i do the same to a V70 T5... im always up for low budget ides... oh also if you take the cat out would that make it fail on a MOT?

Cheers for that, so if i De cat the car ( which i pressume is remove the Cat) how do you make sure it passes the emission test? or do you have to put the cat back on at MOT Time

i think its called a back hander to the mot tester mate....or a long tube into the exhaust of a fiat panda when he aint looking

i did nt like to say that as a " Friend " i know has done this when his Galaxy failed emision test... Obviously i was disgusted that my " friend " did this....

i do know a few cars that have passed the emmissions (genuinely) with a DeCat
It is possible. The closest I've ever seen was an old Mondeo that had a cat fitted but unknow to us didn't have a thing in it ! It didn't pass but the CO was only something like 0.1 percent over the limit but try as we could we couldn't bring it down that tiny amount. Some testing stations will go that extra mile and spend some time getting the vehicle through the emissions if it's just over but often due to time restraints if it fails it fails and you only get on more bite at the cherry before paying for a full re-test again.
