Rear wheel drive?

Does anybody know which red Volvo gearbox will mate up to my 850 2.3?after running my R for a while no I fancy getting hold of another motor and putting it my trackday car?

I would say the gearbox out the 940/960 (is the m90?) then your have to modify alot of parts to make the 5 pot sit up straight

Yup it's the M90, most RWD conversions use that along with 960 motor mounts and a shortened 960 sump to gve the right crossmember clearance.

i've thought about doing this myself, i think you'd be able to use the 850 AWD M58 gearbox. Might need to modify/weld the diff so all the output is sent to the rear & seal up the holes in the casing for the front driveshafts. You'll need to change the exhaust & downpipe to clear the propshaft, change to the dual AWD fuel tank & obviously fit a AWD rear axle & get a custom propshaft made without the torque tube that AWD's use

I'm thinking mk2 escort so I will use ford axle and getting a prop made is no problem,I'm looking at cheap t5 engines,I could fabricate all the mounts myself so I only really need to get hold of a cheap mot failed manual 960/940 so I know what all the gearbox/clutch/flywheel parts are.my escort goes well with a vauxhall motor in bit she'd be awesome with a 5 pot in

m90h gearbox from a 960 2.5L bolts straight on to the t5 lump.
