    V70 2005 T5 Cambelt change

My 2005 V70 T5 is now 6 years old, but has only covered 33k miles. I believe it now needs a cambelt change due to age together with tention pulleys. How much is this going to cost at a Volvo dealer (will call on Monday) and is it neccessary with only 33k miles, don't mind paying if it needs it. Car has never been driven hard with no tuning etc. Is it better to be safe than sorry. Car was serviced October 2010. All help and advice appreciated.

I've been told between 6-8 years and/or around 60k miles. Only had mine done by an indy in the past and under £250, so I'd imagine you'd pay a bit more at a stealer.
Better safe than sorry, bent valves will be pricey. Due to get mine done soon too.

Depending on who you speak to it's either 80k or 100k. The car is not known for timing belt failure, if they were plod wouldn't use them.

In your case I would consider having it done at or before it's 7th birthday since there's no chance of it making 'average' miles and since there would only be you picking up the bill if it went bang, better safe than sorry.

A good independant will do at least as good a job as the dealer for less money.

hi.2005 MY is belt and tensioners at 108k or 10 years. If for piece of mind you want it done and fancy a day out in Norfolk I will gladly replace it for the cost of parts ! about £80, However you still have another 5 years to go.
