    The T5-R is now dead!

With the help of Andyb1375 last night we took all the mechanical elements of the car to pieces. The engine is now sat in the garage along with the rear subframe exhaust etc etc.

The car is going for scrap in the next few days and I have got most of what I think may be useful out of it.

I tried to upload some pictures but failed.

If anyone needs any small parts, switches, pieces of plastic trim etc please do contact me and ill be happy to send them on. Im not going to ask for money for any little bits and bobs just the cost of postage so Im not out of pocket.

So if anyone needs anything, and please no "Do you have the bumper" or "can I have the wheels" questions as if I decide to sell them they will be sold in due course. Just want to help others with bits they may need before the shell goes.

    Cheers

    Emlyn

Still got bits of mine in the garage - 6 years later. The engine is still purring away under the bonnet of the Silver one.

It was quite sad when they finally took away the car-cass.

Just about stripped every last bolt off there I think Dave! I havn't got quite to that extreme as I cant get to some things and those parts that are damaged have been left on.

The garage is heaving now though and needs emptying

I ebayed many of the engine auxilaries. It would do you well to hang onto high value parts such as the strut brace, ARBs & the FSDs (with springs). Specialist parts e.g. steering wheels & trim specific to the T5-R I would also hang onto, until you get a car which either doesn't need them or they are duplicated.

Anyway your closure is a bit swifter than mine. Onwards & forwards!

I could do with an internal tailgate handle as mine's broken.
    (just the plastic trim)

It was an 854 so the tailgate trim will not apply

Im afraid the passenger doors are both dented. The bonnet is dent free but has multiple scratches across it where it was dragged upside down.

    Emyln,

Glad you got all the bits off and a real shame about the car.

If I was you I would take the glovebox off as this will command a high price in that T-5R medium grey colour. It took me 18months to source mine in the correct colour!! and the original SC801 in black, as again, I believe these to be rare as the grey is readily available. I hope you found that tiny item I was after, lol

    Thanks,

    Scott..

If your cruise was working don't forget to retrieve the valve thing under the battery tray and the cruise relay too.

I would also take little things out like the wash wiper filler, ABS ECU & master brake cylinder.

    Excellent..

It's a little bit fiddly but just take the grab handle off then the vent and you'll see the fan/resistor type thing behind it, then pull the headlining down a little and you should see a couple of screws holding the surround in place.. thanks again..

    Scott..

ps. will you cover the postage on 5 gallons of V-Power lol.. and that glovebox went cheap, could have got a bidding war on that as well.. hehe
