    Its worth changing it as a matter of course when really old they do seem to go 'green' the thermostat is a wise investment while your there as they also cause problems (not the one you have)

    Well things definatly seem fine now, had a 51 plate boxter, with 2 smug t**** up my chuff on a dual carriage who then tried to go round me on a roundabout they got about 1 car length in front of me off the roundabout, then i just went past them easily!
    You didn't look so smug then, did you? Tossers.
    I know that the old standard boxter aint fast, but it still felt good.

    Cars still going to the garage to have it all checked, want to get the leak sorted.

    got to say it sounds like MAF sensor to me, that would also explain the lean run, as it doesnt know how much fuel to add. Id give it a clean or replace as mentioned, MAF fail without giving a error code i think. Also they can work then not work then work again.
