    850 tdi tuning?

Anyone have any helpful ideas as to how to make an 850 tdi go quicker? psi motorsport do a plug for the diesel pump and theres a EPROM chip that goes into the ecu which is £220 but is there no mechanical way of making it quicker i.e. screwing the diesel pump in/out a bit?

Any posts saying buy a t5 will be ignored, been there, drove it

yeah the engine is from the vw/audi stable, same engine as the vw transporter van, found a chip thing on ebay ending in a few days, will try it and see. was speaking to local volvo mechanic about power,he's offering me a standard exhaust from an 850 to debox and de-cat then put it on my car to see if theres any difference

@t5_monkey yes i've had a few t5's, shockingly good engines and seriously potent when tuned but unfortunately I cant justify 20mpg on a daily basis plus I got my diesel for very cheap

@leo77 when you say remap you mean strip the ecu and solder a new EPROM chip or actually remap the car using a laptop and the OBD2 port?

Have you thought about a tuning box? Plenty out there for the 2.5 TDi lump, should take it to 170 ish BHP and about 250 lbft.

You can probably pick them up for under £200 now for older models. Some people like them as you can remove it after you sell the car and sell the unit on to get some cash back. Others prefer a remap as it alters more parameters.
