On a separate matter - I confess I grow impatient since the rolling road day to get the rest of my ATM map. All this talk of turbos & horsepower has my brain spooling up.

i know what you mean im saving at mo for all my bits and pieces and a full respray and new rims

Is that a materials problem or a design flaw?

I would go as far to say the housing probably has imperfections from the factory and hairline cracks can therefore happen at stock power.

On another tangent.....Viva Performance do a KKK hybrid.....ok it costs quite a bit but they do a $1000 rebate once they receive the old KKK. (Check their terms and conditions though).

Oh yeah if anyone is prepared to go down the Garrett route then do it if you want a reliable turbo that can shift lots of air.

it was built to fit mate by turbotechnics as a 1 off design because the t28 didnot work on my car so they built a turbo that would work
