    turbo rebuld

    i can get a kkk24 for £100 but it need a rebuild is this economically viable and with this turbo do i need a straight or angled 3" downpipe?

    Think its about £350 for a rebuild but be ware that the housing may have hairline cracks in it...then its a write-off. (This happened to mine when I sent it away for refurb, ended up buying a new turbo).

    the kkk24 is well known for cracking mate so i say no no .if i was you 19t or your 18t modded or a garrett like mine then 26 psi all day long

    I certainly wouldnt like to risk it with out aspically when the boost comes in

    you could run a 2 stage boost say 1.2 at 3k then 1.6 at 4k that should help the rods a tad but i though he was going to forge his spare engine though

    so 26psi would be to much for a standard engine? Mine will be boosting 6psi from tick over...
    what would be a safe boost level on standard internals?

    depends on how soon you bring it in. 1.3 is about the limit I believe.

    1.4 is about max on a small turbo but the bigger turbo come in lata so might be able to run more

    Bigger turbo air temperature will be lower as well so you get denser (is that a word?) air at similar pressure but may be able to push it slightly higher as well

    I intend to run the turbo atabout 14psi and make up the rest of the boost with the Supercharger, with 2 intercoolers.

    it was at 1.5 at the rolling road day lol turned down to 1.1 bar now (16psi)
