    Hu803

So not having mp3 usage in the new S60 i thought id make up some discs, bad idea. It seems my HU803 does not like recorded discs. I have tried slower versions, fast version but none can be read. I had the same problem in my wifes Astra with the unit in that but managed to get CDR's to work.

So anyone using recorded cd's in their HU803 and if so which 1's and how was it recorded?

My 803 play's cdr's, haven't come across any make's that don't play... the only thing I make sure I do is turn the recording speed down to 7 speed (the faster you record the less it burns onto the disc)

I have the same problem with my the 901 from my 02 C70. So I tried a couple of CDR's in a 53 plate C70 that was in the showroom and hey presto! It depends on the firmware on the circuit board. Doesn't matter what speed you burn with or on what brand disc, although I have heard that some brands do work - not for me! I have also tried burning on different formats ie. mp3, wav, etc.
My way around it was to buy a changer for the boot. Plays everything I throw at it!

I have the same headunit in my car. Mine plays copied discs fine, you just have to make sure you burn them at at least 240kbs. I burn mine using Windows Media player 11 and burn them at 320kbs. The quality is amazing and you can skip through the tracks just like a normal cd. I found when i used Nero and burn't them at a lesser quality ie 128kbs then they would not work and the disc would just skip to the next.

Mine work fine burned using K3B on various CD-R media. Do your cds work in any other standard CD player?
