    940 t5?

What work time and cost would there be in changing a 940 into a t5? bearing in mind i already have an engine or would it just be cheaper to get the redblock up to 300bhp+?

the engine will bolt straight onto the gearbox but their'd still be alot of custom fabrication to go with it. I doubt the engine mounts will bolt on & seen a few people use shortened 960 sumps for this conversion, it would also need a bloody good auto electrician to fit the T-5 loom/ECU into the 940

The red block is a far stronger engine mate so stick with that, Smithy is the resident expert on these matters for obvious reasons, he got nearly 300bhp with stock internals, forge it and a big turbo and your looking at 500bhp

Edit.. t5pete is putting a t5 engine into a 240 i think so ask him.

If the bores are ok then stick some china rods in it £350ish then you can whack the boost right up lol.

Where does everyone source these rods and engine parts from? Is there a particular supplier?

Thinking of a long term project due to money constraints of refurbing and building a second stronger engine for the car.

Its alot of work but alot easier to fit the t5 engine in the 940 as it has a bigger engine bay.
fitting the engine in is the easy bit but its all of the custom work thats the hard work, new manifolds custom engine mounts either notch a hole in the fire wall for the dizzy or run coil on plug there is loads to do and god i certainly wouldnt like to pay someone do it, it would costa absoulte fortune.
Also it can be done to fit the t5 loom but will never look pretty unless you want to start extending the loom and then finding a place for the ecu to got.
Best thing to do is rip every thing out thats controlls the engine and go full standalone that way you can make it look really neat.

it would be alot cheaper to pull 300 bhp out of the redblock than trying to put the whiteblock and loads of peeps have pulled 400 bhp and been reliable out of the redblock mate.

the engine is not a straight bolt on a 940 box its the 960 manual box you want that is a straight fit
