Talking got my 19T fitted to my 850 T5

Spent the day at VT today. Adam, Hamish and the lads fitted my 19T 3inch d/pipe and new exhaust. 3 hours spent on the rolling road. The car is *ucking scary to say the least, I mean flippin eck the car is transformed, it just keeps on accelerating!
260 bhp and 300 ft pounds of torque at the wheels, possibly more as it was a hot day.
    Thanks VT.
PS dont tell the missus how much it cost!

What else did you upgrade when you did the 19t?

260hp at the wheels is not shabby at all

cool! There is nothing quite like that 19T feeling!

I expect there is a bit more in it too - as VT dont yet have their new big fan yet. I was there the day that they did Redbricks - 285bhp at the wheels!! as they say "not bad for a red brick!"

you get ur motor Rica'd with a 16T turbo alreadt bolted on,

U rip the 16T off wack a 19T on there without a remap, Would you expect to see ny more ponys coming out of the baby?

Dont the 19T turbos spin at a higer rev range? making it more suitable for motorways etc,

(autobhans) aka ( m62,Manchester, M54, Chester area i thinks, A1M near peterborough, ) And M20 Kent , Folkstone , dover area. No plod there at all. Surprisingly.

19T is more suitable for high speed driving but theirs no point in putting one on a 16T re-mapped car, waste of money buying the turbo and possibly damage the engine.

the car must be mapped properly for a 19t firstly to get the full benefit and secondly or should that be firstly to conrol the boost the 19t produces. adam said you can map for more boost, torque, bhp but the engine will basicly break.the later t5 engines are stronger and can produce 400+ bhp.

Does anyone have any BHP figures for the Rica 19T remap on a 2002 S60 T5 ?

You can get over 300 bhp @ wheels. Aftershock had 352 bhp @ crank, measured on another dyno.

What does 352bhp at the crank equate to as bhp at the wheels on a T5? Im not sure what the % transmission loss is!

19T is only 1 part of the equation. You need a new DP preferably with a race cat because it fits onto the xorst differently and you will strangle the power without the car IMHO. You also need the software or it is just extra weight.

what sort of boost can a 19T take compaired to a 16T?
how much does a new or used 19T turbo cost?
could you fit the turbo, down pipe and cat yourself, then take it to be mapped or does it make a massive difference That it'll go bang before you reach the end of the road?

Boost is not the whole thing (it is just one part of the equation), in any case it is the strength of the engine/transmission that will determine how much can be put in. I believe the 19T (and I could be wrong) can produce 2 Bar.
The 19T on its own is worthless and yes it can go bang - ask Spesh, who rodded his block.

Yep mine went bang, but i dont agree that the 19T is worthless without software hence 13.5 sec 1/4 mile, the car was running on a 304 bhp rica map, but yet pulling like a train!!! Very very very fast bit of kit, the car stayed with a Noble M12 from 30-120mph. But this is my opinion!

Only problem without the map is that it may not be controlled and could cause damage, not saying its what caused yours to go bang but I would prefer to have the map to go with the turbo.

    I personally thought a 19T car running 300hp @ crank drove a lot better than 340hp @ crank ?

I would agree that once the turbo gets stuck in, it is insanly quick.

yes i agree, adam tried several maps 1 producing more bhp but the torque curve was a bit peaky. my torque curve shows pretty flat from 3000 rpm to 6000 rpm. bhp about 225 bhp to 261 bhp between 4000 to 6500 rpm.
but as i said earlier it was a hot day 31c on the dyno slip.
