    Smile pissed off vr32 driver

just driving up the m42 to tamworth to see the old queen, when up along side me was a very new looking golf with a very proud looking owner. Well the little smerk on his face told me that the brick wasnt up to his standard and tried to pull away. Well dont need to go into facts and figures with the 850r performance but trying to get away just wasnt going to happen.
To cut a long story short......he soon disappeared in the rear view.....but then the sat nav(also known as the wife) starts telling me to slow down cause were doing 120........

    volvo........there boxy.....but there good

Am I the only one that can't/doesn't/forgets to look at the dash board when going over certain speeds? Usually dedicating all my concentration to the road surface/other cars/potential hazzards

And am I one of the few who don't think it a good idea to post up how they did over twice the legal limit on the motorway.....?

And if you do get caught either on camera or by a patrol, you can kiss your licence (and possibly your liberty) goodbye for a while.

Want to do those speeds? Save it for the track, and a more controlled environment.

I know the S70R auto has a top of 146mph. Not limited but because its got a 4 speed auto box. I'm presuming if they were 5 speed auto's they would go further. Which is why the manual is supposed to be limited to 155mph.

= very fast and still turns corners

I'll go up to the speed limit (maybe a bit over) then back off, theres a point were it turns from being a bit of fun to racing. When i do occasionally go at higher speeds now, for a while after i just think what was the point of that?

I suppose as i'm getting older i'm know realise that in the past i have driven like a total muppet and been quite lucky that nothing bad has happend.

I remember once after racing a type R in my t4 (and doing some silly speeds) that i said to my gf "i'v turned into a boy racer aint i?" and she said " your too old to be a boy racer, what can we call you", i thought for a second and said " a £££££."

Ever since then i really tried to drive slower and tried to think about other drivers more. I'm nowhere near perfect, but i'm getting better.

I'm not judging anyone here i'm just saying think about what your doing some times, because if someone pulls out in front of you when you are doing 140mph, you'll be lucky not to kill yourself and any one else whos with you.

    I've pi**ed off an R32; great feeling!

Best to date though was an 09 plated Audi TTS (268bhp)! He tried 4 times on the M5 and I kept pushing him. He gave up and dropped back in the end to have a good look at the back of my motor! Great feeling to drive a car that's probably worth the same as the guys shoes! So at least I know my baby isn't far off the mark!

Back to the question of top speed & Auto's, the fastest top speed, that has been seen on my speedo, was 146. Slight down hill with ZERO left to give!
Owned since 2002. Latest update: 10000 miles as at 19/05/13.

To do: Lots (but don't tell Mrs Woody!)
