    Unhappy V70 R 98 engine repair replace ?

    Hi Everyone

Now I have been banging on about this for a while !

I have a 1998 V70 R AWD.It was a great car until the tensioner failed and threw the belt.
Got new belt , engine runs, a bit nosier , runs great , then runs very badly !

Think its a damaged lifter, as a bent valve would not keep changing the way it runs all the time.

Right, got an old 850 T5 that runs like a peach , as my everyday runaround !

Do I fix the R or swap the older 850 engine into it! (How much ££)?

The R wont die.If it did'nt run at all, I would start to swap the R bits over to the T5.

The R is in good condition besides the engine , but I think it is repairable !

Where can I get an inspection quote , repair , advice !

Got to sort it before I run out of time and money.

Thanks Everyone in advance for your help.
    Cheers Karl

I would like to say a massive thankyou to T5Lover who has done an outstanding job on My V70 R AWD

He came all the way down to mine and worked flat out for some hours in the rain and cold.

The car ticks over like a dream , even better than when I bought her !
Got to fix my rear stuck caliper first before i drive it !
This guy is recomended by me as his work is **it hot and to top it all , is a diamond geezer !

My wife and I are very greatful.
I would like to drop him a line if i am down his way anytime.
