    Upgrading Instrument Cluster

Ok Im half way there I think. I have the new instrument cluster I have been after (model with trip computer etc) and currently waiting on the switch (for dash) but something seems not quite so.

As you can see in the pictures below there is a section on the new cluster which has an extra connection (green one) which I dont know what is for and dont want to put the whole dash together again until I know its not important.

Also the connector for the switch... is anyone able to confirm it is the grey one as it appears to be the only loose connector behind the blanking panels.

    Thanks

And one for those who wondered what an 850 minus top of dash looks like!

    er.....No.

You need a small fly lead that plugs into the switch and the small green plug in your first pic... The lead dangling out of the dash next to the switch will be for something else....

Yes it does....try some of the breakers...Salvo, Readview, Nads....failing that ask Rufe, as it's only the fly lead you need (I presume you've got the switch covered) it shouldn't cost a lot.

Right been to a breaker down the road from me who only has Volvo's. Spent a few hours taking one apart and got all the parts I needed.

Its all back together and working... now I have a dash with a computer hurray!!! No more guessing how far I can go before the car splutters to a halt.

Thanks Tomcat for the help and knowing exactly what I needed to finish the job.

    All together again...

Only one thing I have noticed is my old speedo went upto 160mph and the new one only goes to 150mph but both came from T5's?

    Anybody know why this is?
