Cheers james, I would appreciate that. I can collect at avon or in the unlikely event I dont make it the RR day. I think ill stick with existing tb and take my time porting the mani correctly then swap it over. That way if I dont like it I can simply swap it back.

pedro if your T5 tb is lying around and easily accessible if there a chance you could measure it up for me? Ill definately take you up on the offer of pre welded pipe and spare 90 degree and sort you some money out for them. Once I have that measurement ill order all the joints and find some 3" steel. How thick would you say it has to be?

Ok thanks found 1m of pipe I think thats enough for £15. All joints I have found except the 76mm to 55mm 90 degree reducer. Cant seem to find any. Looks like whole job will cost around £120 so pretty pleased with that

No problem, I would say you could store it all in my garage there is heaps of space and its "my space" the mrs stays clear, but distance may be a problem with that.

    Cheers

Crucial element I nearly forgot. Im going to see what I can rob from work, should be able to get the metal and jubilee clips so just the silicone hoses to contend with.

    heres the pics

    top pipe

    IC bottom to throttle body

before the 19mm idle control port was added

    sizes are
    turbo output pipe is 51mm
    bottom IC pipe is 51mm
    top IC pipe is 55mm
960 TB is 75mm, not sure of the original T-5 throttle body size

the IC bottom to throttle body pipe needs a 19mm joint welding on for the idle control valve, however i'm not using mine so will swop for the same size length of tube to save you some bother. As for the silicone joints if you contact "nicenewcar" on ebay directly with the list he'll do you a very good price, i've got a 76mm 90degree spare you can have & more than happy to help if you want to venture into lovely Coventry lol

throttle bodies, 960 on the left T-5 on the right
I presume you just blank off the two vacuum pipes on the side of the 960 TB.
What's the best way of doing this?

oh and double clip every joint with jubilee clips... trust me on this one, I really mean it, esp if you're gonna be running higher than standard boost... Mine poppd off regularly with single clamps at 16.2 psi...

coursee they poppd off with doubles when the mbc died, and she was boosting over 25 psi for the day or two it took me to get round to fixing her... (feed in the power at those levels, do not stamp on it lol)

Got the RIP kit fitted last night, went round to duanes. Nice to meet you mate and thanks very much for the help.

You can definately notice a difference in spool up times, also looks really good. I was amazed how much lighter the aluminium pipework we used was compared to the steel on BT. Plenty left over to do BT too! Oh and it also looks the part.

Pictures to follow but its dark and my camera has died

Alloy is defo the material to use for everything . Thanks for the left over pipe, thats got to be another few kg off lol

No problem, you had been deprived of driving a T5 for over a year so naturally you had to drive!

Good news is didnt blow any pipes on way home and everything is still sitting as it should

I must get round to doing this sometime, as getting the turbo to spool up quicker is a big plus when you've only got 4 gears!
