very nice, like he says in ad must shift as your loosing easy 300kg ????, or am i living in cloud cookoo land ??
Bubba
so overpriced though and it could of been done so much nicer as the rear of the cab were it comes down on a slant why do it like that look better if they had just done it like a normal pick up cab.
prob weigh's about the same with adding steel in for truck cab and the extra in the bed so can't see it weighing 300kgs lighter.
Quite like this pick-up conversion(only thing is,the steering is on the wrong side, lol).
get in,shut-up and hold on.
Wrong, it's the same principle as a convertible car. Take 60% of the roof away and half the body and then you'll get excessive amounts of flex.
Give you an idea, I get enough flex in my 940 as it is with the roof rack on it (and that stops a fair bit of flex) I've cracked my windshield in half from where I've been drifting it.
Take that size of chunk out the body work, and if you drive it hard, you'll be replacing the windshield more often than you refuel. Certainly won't be good on the components either.

As above, in order to do that conversion properly will need substantial strengthening of chassis rails, sills etc, I for a laugh have chopped the roof off a few scrapped cars when I was bored to bomb around the industrial estate to pick up my burgers and coffees, last one i did was on old sierra, I cut the roof at the top of the A posts above the screen an the rest flush with the bottom of the windows, i opened the door, got in and you could feel it flexing, so much so i couldnt open the door when i was inside, it was wedged shut, had to climb out to open it, plus, first speed hump i went over, the screen cracked big time, the whole car was like a jelly, so with all the extra strengthening will be extra weight on a properly converted car, may not be as light as you may think

Years and years and years ago (okay, 5 years ago) I made what was affectionately known as the rolling bath tub. It was a bay window VW bus that had the top half cut off completely (just below the windows all round). That wobbled like you wouldn't believe, so that had bars welded from one side to the other across the top (like the handles you have on roller coasters) and triangle supports, and that was done 3 times in the middle and that was much better, but still a bit loose on the old handling though cos you couldn't fit support bars at the front or rear of the bus.
