    S60 T5 MAF problem

This one is for a buddy of mine in Scotland, not me.

He is currently on his 3rd (i think) MAF sensor, which keeps blowing/breaking, which he is putting down to his induction kit, but what could be causing this other than what he thinks?

He is going to get diagnostics done on car, but just wondered if you guys have any ideas?

    Cheers

Do you know which kit he has installed? as they take a bit of breaking!

i would say induction kit also, sounds like it ain't doing it job in stopping dirt and other particles from entering intake.

i have only went through 2 in 5 years and one was change when not really needed, turn out to be etm

Not sure which kit it is, but reading through it says something about them being to close to MAF can damage them, so asked him and he said its bolted directly to the MAF sensor. He has since been offered a full refund now under the years guarantee - so gotta be a known manufacturer.

Told him just to get a panel filter and save the hassle

Agree with you a panel filter is the answer but never too much oil on the gauze and that also effects the maff as well!
