    V50 headlights - different types

I need to replace my headlights, yes both of them. It seems that in the past my car had some front end damage and the headlight hight adjuster mechanisms were damaged. I only found this out today when I took the car to an MOT station to have the lights adjusted as they were so low and crap.

Volvo want £223. + vat a go, therefore I am looking to buy them elsewhere.

It seems there are a few different types, I don't have a xenon system.

Some headlights available have grey plastic surrounds other have black ones, is the only difference the colour?
Also according to the main stealer some cars have hight adjustment from within the cabin (as I do) and others don't, they imply they are not interchangable, a Volvo breakers claims they are, any ideas?

All this is for pre 2007 cars only.
Can anyone shed any light the differences (forgive the pun).

    Many thanks
