    Fitted an MBC Today!

Courtesy of Smithness after a late night visit to his place last night I have completed my first performance mod today on the old girl. Its a little Turbosmart MBC and smithness you were right mate it was a dodle to fit!

After this I was in the "I can do anything" mood so went to halfruads to buy a boost guage so I could get a vauge Idea where I was at.

Thanks to a good few contributions from p fandango on this thread http://www.vpcuk.org/forums/showthre...ht=boost+guage that job too was a dodle.

All in all a productive day and pics at the bottom to show!

However what I need to know now is what is a good boost pressure to be working on with standard unmapped T5 with 15g turbo? At the moment its sitting at around 14psi after fiddling. How accurate are these manual guages too? Is it better to crank down to say 12 if the guage reads 14?

    Any comments appreciated.

Please excuse rubbish pictures could work how to turn the flash off.

Cheers mate ill run at that for a while definately at least now with a guage I can turn it down and get it back to around the same figure.

After seeing and driving your car last night all I seem to be thinking about is "Can I make mine go like deans?" mmm bigger turbo, HLM map, blue injectors, decat.... the list goes on!

I forgot last night but is there any chance next time I spin up to grab that spare manifold and have a got at porting it?

yeah 14 is a good round figure , mines at 14psi and touch wood av had no probs. its been on about 6months and it ran a bleed valve before that which use to peaks at 21psi lol , 14psi on a 15g will feel very punchy a changed to a 16t and the power is the same but alot smoother with it
chhers hope this helps , also the end of the white on the boost gauge is about 20 iirc

Cheers Lee seems 14 psi is the way forward. When you mension the white on the boost guage I take it you are reffering to the manufacturers guage?

Could be a number of reasons, vac leak, weak actuator?

I loved it after fitting an MBC, sorry I originally had a bleed valve, made a big difference, I found 14psi was good, I did go further but you get so far and the car cuts the fuel supply (I think) its like a saftey feature to stop damage but can be quite violent, give you whiplash lol, Rnash is right, you will be addicted and theres no end of mods you can do, I started on my old car with a mbc, then a remap, you just keep wanting more and more power, then i sold my car, but bought another and thats getting the treatment now
