Another bar that can help Brace the car is a.....
TOWBAR
Idealy a detachable / retractable one. (to keep the good looks)
But These are expensive though, and 2nd hand are hard to find.
AND
If you do find a cheap 2nd hand one....it's MINE I saw it first, I want it, I'll tell me mum......lol

I have also heard that possibly you can get rear strut braces - but I don't know if that is entirely accurate?

I have a Witter detachable tow bar on my 855.
You can detach the ball part for looks, but on the underside you can see the heavy duty brackets which attach it to each side of the chassis, unsure if its helps with rigidity though?
The 855 is a big strong car, ...The C70 Convertable tends to twist and shake better than Elvis when under power, and hitting potholes ect when driving normaly.
I would say there's no comparison between the two vehicles. EVEN though the C70 IS based on the 850 chassis. (That solid roof dun half elp em...lol)

Hi Joe,
yes we can supply them, but I really do not know who RT Motors are! I work for FRF Motors, and post under my user name Rufe on here and all other forums I use.
Volvo are getting more into stock in the next couple of weeks, we really have sold all that they could get hold of both in the UK and Sweden. A very popular item.
If anyone is interested please send a request to the link in my banner below, and I will reply with ordering details and the current expected delivery time.

just another little tip. After you have fitted the strut brace, check and re-tighten the two big bolts on the brace itself and the 3 nuts on each strut (at the top) after a couple of weeks of driving. They can work themselves a little loose after fitting when they are new. If they have just re-tighten them and they should be fine after that.
Bailey dump valve + Boost gauge + Manual boost controller + K&N induction kit + Powerflow cat back exhaust + Strut Brace + Bilstein shock n sports springs with 40mm drop
= very fast and still turns corners
interesting reading ... 2 things ... why would you jack the car up in the first place ? and what is scuttle lol ... excuse me for daft ? .. but been driving rwd for quite a while now .. this is my first t5 and loving it
Frosty
Scuttle is caused by the car having no roof.
It happens when you hit any kind of road undulations/potholes, Turning ect. Also the car "Feels like it's twisting it's self under excelleration.
The car is supposed to be made stronger but believe me, it flexes.
Imagine a shoe box all taped together, quite strong for a box.
Now cut off one of the long tops, and then see how flexible it becomes.
This is the same aspect.
Strut braces can help strengthen the box again, by braceing the sides of the vehicle.
Thats one reason Convertables are useually heavier than their roofed counterparts, (All the added strengthening required to stop it scuttleing)
