yeah, Yeah, LOL, I know what you mean, but I am older and wiser now!! ( More the pity ) I have had enough of fast cars, that in turn guzzle fuel like it's going out of fashion... and only managing to get an average "max" speed of 30 mph on the indicator on the dash... the f****g roads are rammed now a days... blah blah....

I have fast bikes for the road and Track so get my kicks that way, it's the only way now... so don't be sorry....

My old V40 1.9 DCI had a remap by Celtic tuning, taking it from a quoted 115 BHP to 150 BHP - think the 150 BHP is a little optimistic though. Not one of the smoothest remaps I have sampled though.

When you say "smoothest" can you explain? symptoms? Experience?

Torque build up was not smooth and progressive, it was all or nothing. I have owned many remapped diesel's in the past and this one seemed well not exactly the most developed for the car. There are many tuners out there, some probably have a lot of experience with the DCI unit.

Agree with Turkish, the 40 series can suffer if tuned badly with turbo overspeed, basically too much boost will destroy the turbo. Get a map from a well tried and tested reputable tuner, not a back street garage.

I had a map from celtic tuning on my Almera 2.2 TDDI (the first almera they did) and I was well impressed with it, but as you say it wasn't the smoothest but I loved the remap

HLM does a good remap (see HAMISH on this site) I got mine done by post (sent the ECU) and was only wothout the car for three days. The remap got rid of the three flat spots it had in it's power curve and still get 50 mpg when driving sensibly.

see my sig for other upgrades I've done
"I am never wrong! Just in a position to learn something new!"
