Am I right in thinking that this would be on a non turbo 850 ? If so it's called, erm......well it's called..........it takes heat from the exhaust manifold in cold temperature conditions to prevent intake icing or at least that's the theory, don't know exactly what it's called sorry !

it will probably be the heat transfer to air box as already said, not sure what model you have but if its aluminium flexi pipe i think they do it in most car shops.
old cars with non computerized ignition systems needed them in very cold weather but i modern electronic not needed to be honest.

    +1 to speedt5r.

It can be useful for climates like Alaska and Canada, but not really necessary for North Yorkshire (even though it can get a bit parky up there!).

on my old Jeep instead of having the pipe go to the manifold i fed it to a bumper vent, it did actually freeze up in the winter. The AA weren't impressed when i called them out after it spluttered to a halt, but by the time there man got there it had thawed itself & ran fine. Did that for a whole week before anyone realized & repiped it then lol
