    new car

Well i picked up the new S70t5 today and all seems reasonable.

    few things ive noticed

1, throttle is very heavy and hard to press

2, needs a damn good service

3, very slight clutch release rattle

the questions are, what a main dealers like for prices on plugs, oil filters and throttle cables ?

and where the hell do i fit the dump valve ? is it on the cross over pipe to the bottom of the intercooler or the pipe from the inlet manifold to the intercooler ?

it also feels quite slow and low boost so i'm guessing that a change of vac pipes is in order, anyone know the diameter ?

If its an early S70 T5 it'll probably be pre-me7 so will have a throttle cable. These often become stiff through lack of use (mine was) but has free'd off with use. Or replace it.

As for hose its a mixture of 4.5 and 5mm iirc.

Expensive! You'd do better to find a good indy for servicing- there are plenty around.

Top pipe to the inlet manifold; you'll need to remove and blank off the recirc valve on the turbo, then run a vac pipe from the nipple on the DV to where the vac pipe from the recirc was connected to the inlet manifold.
10mm ratchet spanner will be your best friend regards the recirc valve cos it's a git to get to!

thanks for the info, it is pre-me7, ive already got the blanking plate and dump valve

plus a full set of ratchet spanners lol.

i'll order a good length of 4.5 and 5mm pipe tonight and change the whole lot over the weekend.

As for service parts i'll pop to ces tomorrow and get it from there instead.

only thing i forgot to ask is what are the cambelt change intervals ?

personally i'd get it done as a matter of cause.

I've found Volvo to be quite reasonable in their prices. If you PM Rufe on here with your request he can provide genuine parts at more reasonable prices
