    Broken top mount - HELP!!!

Been getting a loud bang/knock from the N/S rear the last couple of days since i carried a load of bags of gravel in the car. Anyway i took all the boot panels off today and found the top mount has a sheered bolt on one side and is completely broken on the other.

Ive no idea how its happened as it vary rarely gets thrown around bends and i go over speed bumps slowly due to the fact that its lowered.

Anyway im thinking its gonna need welding but is that a big job in this location?
All info or help greatly appreciated guys.

perhaps making a plate to go underneath - then tack welded in would be the answer? Sandwich the chassis and the top of the shock?

That would certainly be the strongest and best method for repair I think. Effectively making a double underneath the existing mount.
Arguing is pointless....she may not be right but she's never wrong

Tell her a remap is just having your satnav updated.....
