    Car weight

I have looked in the manual and on the vin plate (n/s/f) inner wing and its show that my S60R weighs 2100Kg. I have seen specification details stating the car is around 1600kg.

On page 159 of the owners handbook for S60 and S60R the weights are as follows

    1. Max. total weight = 2100kg
    2. Max. train weight (car+trailer) = 3700kg
    3. Max front axle load = 1100kg
    4. Max rear axle load = 1050kg

I'm not totally sure and a quick internet search probably could resolve the query, but I think the the specification is the maximum kerb weight that each axle can take.
    A 850/S/V70 are around 1600+kgs
The max carrying capacity is 2100kgs
This allows you to load the car with 500kgs of gold before the VOSA drag you away to a weigh bridge.

You must distribute the load so that you down overload one and not the other..
