    ex plod soild bushing

can anyone tell me how 'solid' the solid bushes are on an ex cop car and are they as easy to spot as normal ones for wear? only ask as mine apparently has them and i may change them for other uprated bushes?

The top engine mount on my car was properly duff!

Did the lower engine tie bar about a month later. Makes a difference!

sorry for the hijack but how does the smaller tie-rod bush come out. I've rounded the bolts off so can't get the bar off BT, does it just push/hammer out like the larger one? (got that one done)

I replaced the whole thing, carriers, bar & bushes!

PFV do the whole thing for the P2, dunno about the 850/S70's though.

You need to remember thet the bolts take a lot of the pressure, so it's worth getting the whole thing replaced just for peace of mind.

If the bolt wouldn't give & it stripped the head, I'd say it needed replaced!

I've got a pair of ex-plod wishbones (Now there's a shock!) and the front lower bushes feel like the hydraulic ones.

I CAN MOVE THEM BY HAND.

I wouldn't call them an upgrade, more like extended life. They feel just as soft as a standard bush and not a patch on PowerFlex . . .

    Hi-jack.....

Mine felt awful when I first bought it... the top mount was shot... replaced that..... then noticed the lower arm under engine was worse... bought a new one fitted that and that improved things, broke the original one trying to get the bushes out!!! they get corroded in!!! and the ally isn't that strong.... hopefully going to replace the standard bushes with polyflex ones,, they feel like they will be firmer...

Then we get to the wishbone bushes... well the job is easy when you know how... and now I do... last one this week... already feels better with one done and I know the other one is worse!!!! pictures this week...

If anyone wants the pins turned I am up for it....
