I believe it's a 4cyl, so not a T5. But it is RWD and, apparently, not difficult to make quicker.

    Tis the 2.3 "Red Block"
16v valve head will go on if you have time and money.
Was thinking about the same engine in a 245 a while back.
There's a 940 estate near where I work for sale, But it's only the 2.0 Turbo. Clean though for £675.

hello mate the 2.3 8v redblock has loads of torque and even with the standard weady turbo whitch is a 13c you can pull 220 to 250 bhp with a chip and mbc very cheap.and with that kind of power these cars can realy shift due to being rwd.then stick a 15g to 19t on, exhaust, slightly bigger injectors ,fpr, chip then 300 bhp.with a modded head ,cam, garrett t34 and above then its 350 bhp above with a bit tuning.hope this helps

the 940 i would say is a much more tuneable and alot more stronger engine also modding it will be very chhep untill you need to go for larger turbos but stick a 15g or 16t and it will fly

i would get a late 940 lpt 1996 to 1998 model witch i got they come with a g80 locker diff standard and m90 box and the engines are the same on the 2.3hpt and lpt .just put a 16t on ,exhaust and chip it with some me7 blues gut take the ballist resistor pack out and you can run up to 280 bhp ,stick a cam in it because the standard cam sucks and taking 300 bhp no probs and that is running 20 psi.these engines are scerter blocks and very strong and can take a hammering mate.also suspension upgrades are cheap too.and all the t5 rims fit with spacers too.

Hi mate, what's the Ballast resistor pack and how do you take it out. running 15psi with an MBC and chips, no other mods at the moment, will this make a difference?

I've got a 15g now, just need to get it "clocked" for RWD (got a pdf about doing this but looks pretty difficult), then I'll look at getting an exhaust to fit it, probably a 3" decat system.

if you use the 15g then get a 4bar ajustable fpr mate that will turn the pressure up on your standard injectors to fuel the 15g .i use a fse fpr not a power boost valve.
