    Ball joints

I need to replace one, so genuine Volvo wishbone or pattern?

I'm also gonna replace wishbone bushes with poly bushes.
    Thanks.

Genuine every time if you can afford it, the ball joints last longer.

ive seen front arms noted on some part listings as diesel/police vehicles , what does this mean are they tougher than the standard arms?

I've had a pattern arm for mine before and it threw the tracking out by 2 degrees (of the scale practically !) so I would probably go genuine or a decent used genuine one that's been binned because of knackered bushes (that's what I've been doing, can't afford new ones !). The plod/diesel ones have different bushes with a bar through each one and four bolts to hold them to the subframe rather than the usual two on 'normal' T5's. Whether the arms are the same without the bushes (if you were going to polybush them for instance) seems to be uncertain.
