    Silicon Samco Pipes

    Simple question really...

... is it worth upgrading your regular common garden rubber turbo hoses to Samco Silicon ones?

If it is... what are the benefits in terms of responsiveness/power etc?

    Cheers Ben

you won't gain any power from Samco hoses, you might gain a bit of responsiveness if your current hoses are expanding when the turbo comes onto boost

I'd stick with a good quality rubber reinforced hose. I did get some excellent quality high pressure silicone hose from Matt Lewis racing a good while back that worked well but hose clamps are a pain to fit as getting the right size can be hard, whereas the standard hose sizes are much easier to get decent hose clamps for. With you car being fairly new I would give the car a once over as I would think they may be in good shape and up to the job.

But they do like nice if you are into that sort of thing... Not sure if they are any more durable.

Thread revival, the Ebay 850 T5 silicon boost hoses seem to be getting cheaper:

    http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/UK-Silicon...item3cf5cb3678

Firstly - Has anyone tried these, are they worth an investment at the next service interval?

Secondly - Is that little offshoot elbow for a DV? I don't want one of those

If you actually read the ad, you will discover that that particular ad is for a radiator hose !
