    Halfrauds!!!

Heard about these rims a couple of weeks ago in Halfrauds. £350 for 4 wheels with new tyres, sounded good to me. I didn't really car what they looked like or what size because at the time I needed 4 new tyres so I thought, thats only a hundred quid more for brand new rims. Anywho, they were only available in 4 stud, fair enough I thought what did I expect for that price. I then asked whatrims they could supply for my V70. He showed me many designs and sizes from £400 to £900. I said Ok I'll order a set only then to be told that I'd also have to purchase spacers as they do not do an exact fit rim. I swiftly walked away!!! How can they say they offer wheels for Volvo's when they clearly do not???

Yep, also, I know on a few Volvos they have that stud thing that pokes out so you need a hole in the rim for that, and most don't accomodate for that!

Hellfrauds are good for some basic things, and tools (when they have offers) and speakers (surprisingly cheap actually!) but for wheels, plugs, anything like that, I use an proper place.

the stud as helps keep the brake disc in place, but it unbolts so you can remove it so the face is flat

    Support your local motor factor!!!
Have lost countless of the little corner shops in recent years, and hate going to Halfords. Always try to go to my (now not so) local motor store - the blokes have been there for years and have a WEALTH of knowledge and the prices are somewhat flexible shall we say!

I agree with Phil, I do go to halfords for some stuff, but I once went to my local guy, and he managed to get the handbrake shoes for my AWD (not an easy feat as I'd been to three places and they didn't have them on record) next day and for £15! I nearly ripped his hand of LOL

our local parts/accessory shop had a very good reputation & had the staff who were interested in cars & would do anything to help & get you anything you wanted, they got bought out by a bigger national franchise & the knowledgable staff left at the same time. Now they only stock the usual off-the-shelf stuff (cone filters, mesh & alloy valve caps) so mainly buy stuff online now
