    Spark Plugs - 850

    Just change my spark plugs

How easy is it on an 850, only took me 12 minutes including opening & closing the bonnet. Now starts & drives much better, hoping for better MPG.

Only cost £16.13 on Ebay for 5 x NGK R (4 prong) SPARK PLUGS

All you need is a 5/8" Flexible Spark Plug Wrench & a T30 Torx head (star type shape)

    Pics below:

No excuse not to change them now!

Hmmm, be interesting to see what your performance figures are now with the 4-electrode plugs. I have done experiments with various cars with single electrode and multitip plugs, and most of the time I've seen losses in naturally aspirated cars but never tried a turbo car before.

Good price for the plugs though

Apparently the N/A 2.0 20v engine works better with the three/four electrode type as it helps to prevent hesitant starting which can be a problem.

you can buy volvo plugs on ebay for less than what you paid for the ngk's and the turbo set up takes longer to change as top boost pipe is in the way but well done on time. at least you used ngk's not champion's.lol

    only 1 plug NGK recommend for 850 T5 - BKR7EVX

possibly also the iridium 8s if you are feeling flush. Don't fall for this 4 electrode ££££££.

Do you think that the four prong NGK R's will make my already slow 2.0 20v slower?

TBH I don't think there will be much in between standard Volvo plugs and NGK's - you are not struggling with high intake temps or real stress found in the modified T5 engine.
